When inserting a foley catheter on a female, bring that bed up and put her in trendelenburg. It is a game changer and I have never missed a foley since!

When drawing blood or inserting an IV, if a patient is a tough stick and has really small veins, put two tourniquets on their arm and that vein will puff up better.

This is so nursing school, but if a patient is angry about something instead of saying “I understand”, say “I hear you”.. they are less likely to yell at you

Dilute IV Reglan in a 50mL bag of saline so it runs over 10 minutes at least.. if Reglan goes in too fast, your patient might be ripping their IV out and running out the door from the anxiety it causes
